No Way to Prepare

No one tells you how to prepare for life events - transitions, deaths, accidents, joyful moments, changes......no one lets you know how hard it is going to be to move on from a place or live in the go-between, waiting zone of life.  No one tells you how to prepare for a friend's untimely car accident or unknown recovery stages.  No one tells you that nobody in your life will notice or care how difficult of a time you might be having.  No one prepares you that in the moments when you need people the most you are alone - and in those joyous moments, people can't wait to be by your side.  No one tells you.

Luckily, we're not completely alone, otherwise I don't think I would be alright at this current moment in time; however, that doesn't take any of the pain away - the misunderstanding, the envy, the resentment, the anger, why questioning.  I have so many blessings in my life, I can't even count them but sometimes, life happens and you won't understand.  Faith is the center and has to be, without it, we would drive ourselves crazy trying to figure things out.

All I know is life is WAY WAY too short to sweat the small stuff.  I know I'm quoting some cheesy bathroom reader book there but it's a true statement.  Our time here is so fleeting; we can't afford to waste it with anger, jealously, miscommunication, resentment, unforgiveness, self-loathing - instead, we have to move past those things and hold onto the goodness that fills people.  The joy in every moment, even the bad ones and push forward.  Even when we don't feel like it, loving those around us that might not love us.  Life is too short, cherish it and cherish those around you.
